Press Release: Operation Serve

For two years in a row, CCV had a massive food and clothing drive to benefit the local homeless shelters. Here is a press release that I wrote for a follow-up report.

Mission Accomplished Through Operation Serve
Albert Einstein once said, “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” The members of Christ's Church of the Valley desire to do just that – live a worthy life by serving others. So on Sunday, June 3, CCV volunteers carried out a unique project affectionately known as Operation Serve.

Through Operation Serve, CCV reached out to 560 homeless men, 480 women, and 240 children in need within the greater Phoenix area. This project required 575 volunteers visiting 7 different shelters to accomplish this mission.

Here are some of the facts about Operation Serve:

•3 U-Haul trucks fully loaded with food and non-perishable items were delivered and donated to St. Mary's Food Bank.
•200 large boxes of gently-used business, casual clothing were donated to the shelters.
•1,300 personal kits containing hygiene essentials were distributed.
•1,100 warm meals were served.

Christ's Church of the Valley is located at 7007 W Happy Valley Rd in Peoria, AZ. Contact us if you have any questions at 623.376.2444 or www.ccvonline.com. Regular weekend worship times are 4:30 and 6:15 pm every Saturday and 9:30 and 11:15 am every Sunday.
