Press Release: Sex Drive

The purpose of this press release was to attract community members who don't normally attend church and invite them to a new series called Sex Drive. The church has a target market of reaching males between the ages of 25-45.

Sex Drive...Just When You Thought Church Was Boring

Sex wasn’t invented in a dark alley behind a porn shop…. God invented sex and wants it to be great. In America’s hypersexualized culture, it’s hard to distinguish what is good and healthy and what is not. Sex doesn’t have to be dirty…many of us need permission to pursue the possibilities of satisfying sex because it doesn’t come natural or easy.

Our culture is immersed, bathed in sexual images. Hollywood has their agenda, God has His own. So since God invented sex, we should talk about it. And just when you thought church was boring, we have something to keep you awake and interested.

At Christ's Church of the Valley, we will explore sex as God intended. Join us for Sex Drive, God’s roadmap for sex, detailed in a new 4-week series starting the weekend of October 13-14.

Think SEX: October 13-14
Unreal SEX: October 20-21
Get SEX: October 27-28
Perfect SEX: November 3-4

During the weekend services of October 13-14, Craig Gross who regularly reaches out to those working in the porn industry and is the founder of XXXchurch.com, will speak live at CCV’s weekend services and will discuss the mental aspects of sex drive to include pornography, lust and sexual addictions.

In addition to speaking at our four, regular weekend services, Craig Gross will rejoin us on Sunday, October 14 starting at 7:00 pm in the CCV Worship Center to share of his experiences and lessons learned from helping those who want to leave porn industry. This event is free to the public and registration is not required.

This 4-week series will also cover topics like “unreal sex” and what Hollywood wants you to think is real, unique sex. But in the end, it isn’t real at all. On the weekend of 27-28, author Shaunti Feldhahn, who wrote For Men Only: A Straightforward Guide to the Inner Lives of Women and For Women Only: What You Need to Know about the Inner Lives of Men, in a live, in-person interview will also address key issues facing what men and women are really thinking about sex. The series will conclude with “perfect sex” and how great sex can be in the context of marriage.

CCV will tackle the not-often-discussed-in-church subject. This series is for single and married adults as well as mature teens and aims to provide answers and a complete model for the greatest sex ever – rightly ordered sex. Four identical services will be provided every weekend in the main Worship Center.

CCV is located at 7007 W Happy Valley Rd. in Peoria, AZ. Contact us if you have any questions at 623.376.2444 or www.ccvonline.com. Regular contemporary weekend worship times are 4:30 and 6:15 pm every Saturday and 9:30 and 11:15 am every Sunday.

Press Release: Jim Caviezel

Below is the press release I wrote to notify local media that Jim Caviezel would be making a guest appearance at CCV. The release ran in several local newspapers including the Arizona Republic and Peoria Republic.

Hollywood Actor Jim Caviezel Makes Time to Share His Story

The Count of Monte Cristo, Frequency, High Crimes, Pay It Forward, The Thin Red Line, and Déjà Vu are just a few blockbuster hits under Jim Caviezel’s belt. But his life in the Hollywood lights wasn’t always so glamorous. When Caviezel was just 23, he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a waiter between auditions. After a few months of struggling to find acting jobs, he began to pick up small parts in TV series including The Wonder Years and Murder, She Wrote.

Caviezel’s first break came with a minor role in Gus Van Sant’s 1991 film My Own Private Idaho. Finally, his big break came when he played in the 1998 war movie, The Thin Red Line. But none of Caviezel’s previous roles could have prepared him for the grueling, challenging role that he would occupy in Mel Gibson’s 2004 mega hit -- The Passion of the Christ.

Perhaps best-known for his role in The Passion, Jim Caviezel might have more things in common with Jesus than Hollywood would like to mention. Hailed for his true-to-life performance in The Passion, Caviezel has created quite a controversy in Hollywood and around the world. Caviezel has a story to tell and no one can seem to stop him.

Please join us for a special service at Christ's Church of the Valley on the weekend of September 8-9. In a live, in-person interview, Jim Caviezel will share of his life behind the camera and who he really is when no one is watching. Come hear what the celebrity magazines aren’t covering....
